Introduction

This summer, we are offering a variety of week-long, multi-day and half-day summer camps for ages 4 - 16. All camps are based at Stokes Nature Center. Join us and learn about the truly amazing natural world!

Week-long Camps

Get Stoked!
Week-long Camp

Best for ages 14 - 16

Get stoked for some serious outdoor fun with SNC's week-long outdoor recreation camp! We'll be partnering with local businesses and the USU Outdoor Recreation Program experts to offer a week of intense fun in Logan Canyon and beyond! Adevnture lovers will get a taste of several activities including rock climbing, paddle boarding, and canoeing more! Safety is a priority so we'll have activity experts on hand to ensure even those with no prior experience are ready to have a terric time, while more experienced campers are closely supervised.

Monday: GPS, Map and Compass skills in the morning, Intro to paddle boarding in the afternoon
Tuesday: Climbing intruction at RockHaus in the morning, Geocache canoe trip in the marshes in the afternoon
Wednesday: All day rock climbing in Logan Canyon!
Thursday: Paddle boarding, hiking, and picnic at Tony Grove, and overnight campout in the canyon
Friday: Breakfast and naturalist hike

June 9-11, 9am-4:30pm AND June 12, 9am through June 13 ,12pm
(includes an overnight stay on Thursday night)

Cost: $265 ($250 for SNC members)

Orienteering & Survival
Week-long Camp

Best for ages 10 - 13

Bear Grylls, Indiana Jones and the Swiss Family Robinson will have nothing on our campers after this awesome week of outdoor adventure! Learn the ins and outs of orienteering with sun and stars, play games that'll teach you to use a compass and topo maps, and try your hand at backcountry survival skills like setting snares and finding/building shelter.

June 23-25, 9am-4:30pm AND June 26, 9am through June 27, 12pm

Junior Naturalist
Week-long Camp

Best for ages 9 - 12

Join Stokes Nature Center for a week of nature exploration and scientific inquiry! We'll be honing our observation skills to learn all about the flora, fauna, geology and history of Logan Canyon through naturalist techniques old and new.

July 7 - 9, 9am-4:30pm AND July 10, 9am through July 11, 12pm

Nature Art
Week-long Camp

Best for ages 7 - 10

Channel your inner Claude Monet and Ansel Adams in this popular week of nature inspired art! We'll use a number of different mediums to interpret the beauty of nature... and sometimes nature itself will be the art medium of choice! This camp always fills fast, so early registration is highliy recommended.

July 21 - 23, 9am-4:30pm AND July 24, 9am through July 25, 12pm

Outdoor Adventurers
Week-long Camp

Best for ages 10 - 13

Our last week-long camp of the summer offers a younger group of adventurers the chance to explore some of the great activities featured in our Get Stoked camp for teens. We'll partner with local businesses and USU's Outdoor Recreation Program to offer a number of exciting adventures in Logan Canyon and beyond. Campers will try climbing, canoeing, paddle boarding and more!

Nature Art
Multi-day Camp

Best for ages 5-8

Explore, observe and interpret the wonders of nature through the medium of ART! We'll create numerous works of art each day through a number of techniques and tools.(This is a three-day camp experience.)

June 3-5, 9am-4:30pm

Cost: $120 ($100 for members)

Music of Nature
Multi-day Camp

Best for ages 7-10

The natural world is a symphony of rhythms, melodies, and ensembles! We'll explore examples of them all and make some music of our own in this camp! (This is a two-day camp experience.)

June 18-19, 9am-4:30pm

Cost: $80 ($65 for members)

Citizen Science
Multi-day Camp

Best for ages 7-10

Learn about cool ways YOU can contribute to science research! From water quality montering, to wildlife, and even smartphone and tablet apps, there are lots of awesome ways you can become a Citizen Scientist today! (This is a three-day camp experience.)

July 14-16, 9am-4:30pm

Go (FLY) Fish!
Multi-day Camp

Best for ages 11 - 14

Local fishing experts from Cache Anglers and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources team up with SNC for this unique summer experience. Learn about water quality, stream ecology, casting, tying flies, and of course... go fishing! (This is a three-day camp experience)

July 28 - 30, 9am-4:30pm

Knee-High Naturalists
Half-day Camps

Best for ages 4-7

Crawl, splash, dig, and search your way through the wonders of nature. Be inspired by stories, laugh through games, & create nature-themed art during this fun outdoor learning time. Eight half-day sessions with a different focus each time- come to one or all...
