Scouting
Stokes Nature Center can provide the setting, resources, and knowledge for a wide range of nature-oriented badges for both boy scouts and girl scouts. Programs are available for many scout levels - please look at the list below to find a program that is right for you. SNC is a great place to explore as a troop, and can also provide some resources for pursuing badge requirements on an individual level. Visits are free, but for any group visit, please call ahead.
To schedule a program:
-Call SNC at (435)755-3239 with your choice of badge program and potential dates. To best accomodate our schedule and yours, please try to contact us at least two weeks in advance.
-Program must have a minimum of 5 scouts and must have a parent/chaperone present.
-SNC members recieve a 20% discount. Group discounts may be available.
-Pre-registration and pre-payment is required for all scout programs.
Don't have enough scouts to schedule a class? SNC regularly offers Scout Days where scouts can complete the requirements for one or more badges. Check the Upcoming Scout Programs section below or call for upcoming badge classes that have spots available.
Scout Saturday: Geology

Webelos 10am-12pm
Boy Scouts 1-3pm
At Stokes Nature Center
SNC's registered Scout counselor presents a day of geology just for Scouts! Cub Scouts and Webelos can earn their geology badge in the morning session, while Boy Scouts will earn their geology badge in the afternoon.
Cost: $6 for Webelos, $10 for Boy Scouts

A full day of science and experiments for boy scouts, fulfilling the requirements for this outstanding badge! Activities include comparing species diversity of two field sites, learning about endangered species and conducting an experiment on the best way to clean up an oil spill.
6 hours, $25 per scout
