Cost: $2.50 per kid (SNC members), $3 per kid (non-members)

Explore animals, plants, and nature with your toddler through music, crafts, and games. This is a parent interactive program, and toddlers must have a parent present to participate and explore along with their child. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Elaine Thatcher of the Mountain West Center at USU will present stories from Stokes Nature Center's History & Lore of Logan Canyon Podcast series. Join us as we take a virtual tour through Logan Canyon and hear tales about Old Ephraim the giant Grizzly, the first power plant to harness the Logan River, the Bear Lake Monster, a 1950's plane crash, the witch of the Wind Caves, and more. You will learn fascinating facts about hummingbirds and how to identify different species. You will also have the opportunity to feed them by hand! You’ll want to bring your camera for this one! Edible/Medicinal Plants

Sagebrush Stroll

What gives sagebrush its scent? How does it survive the winter? Learn all about these hardy shrubs and their remarkable survival stategies. Join SNC, Bridgerland Audubon, and Leila Shultz, emeritus research professor at USU, on an outing through Logan Canyon. Meet at 9am at First Dam for carpools and directions. Bring water and a snack.
