Garden City Trails no map available 004 LIMBER PINE Trailhead: TH29 LIMBER PINE NATURE TRAIL. TH29 is a very short distance east of the summit (7800 ft) of Logan Canyon on US 89. There is parking adjacent to the highway. Grade: 8% for the first 500 feet with rest benches along the way, then leveling off before becoming 4% downhill for the remainder.
The trail is a pleasant walk, shaded by firs, aspens, and some
of the few limber pines remaining in the forest today. Along the
trail is also a stand of mountain mahogany. The Limber Pine is
actually several trees that have grown together. The sinks area
and the Bear River Range lie to the west of the trail with Bear
Lake and Wyoming to the east. A view of Bear Lake Valley can be
seen at the Bear Lake Overlook, a mile down from the Limber Pine
Trail parking lot. back to contents |
